General Description The Model MSE-K3
Lube Oil Conditioner is a 3 GPM, Kidney Loop, Pressure Coalescence Lube Oil Conditioner that continuously pumps oil from the FD-ID-PA Fan Lube Reservoir, cleans and dries the turbine oil, and returns the lube oil under pressure to the reservoir. It is designed for continuous 24/7 operation and is engineered with continuous operation rated components. The MSE-K3 is capable of maintaining "Reservoir Cleanliness" on a reservoir sized between 121- 360 gallons. This unit is ideal for FD- ID- PA Fan Lube Reservoirs, and can handle lube oil up to ISO-68 in Viscosity.
The MSE-K3 is a Self-Contained, Skid Mounted (also available in a Portable Cart), Micro-Processor Controlled, Full Status Control Panel, Pressure Coalescence System that features an Automatic Water Drain and a Totalizing Water Meter to help your Power Plant monitor water removal and/or predict critical maintenance.

Performance
Solid Contamination Removal The MSE-K3 removes particulate contamination in phases: Phase-1 is a 30 Mesh Cleanable Strainer to protect the 3 GPM Pump; Phase-2 is a 3 Micron, Beta 200, Absolute Filtration Rating based on Multipass Testing Methods.
Water Removal The MSE-K3 removes free, emulsified, and some of the dissolved water. Based on an influent of 5000 ppm (0.5%) concentration of water the MSE-K3 will reduce the free and emulsified water content in the reservoir to less than 25 ppm and the total water content to less than 150 ppm with oil viscosity to 200 ssu.
Reservoir Cleanliness for Maximum Turbine Lube Oil System Cleanliness Levels the entire lube reservoir should be processed at least once every two (2) hours by the
MSE-K3 on a continuous basis. Proper plumbing, whereas, the suction line to the MSE-K3 needs to be at the absolute bottom of the lube reservoir is also required. If these two criteria are met, the MSE-K3 is guaranteed to maintain a solid contamination level of ISO 16/13 (SAE Class 4) per NFPA or better and maintain a water contaminant level of less than 150 ppm total water concentration (less than 25 ppm free and emulsified) provided the influent water level does not exceed 5000 ppm. Maintaining these levels of cleanliness in the entire Lube Reservoir will minimize the effects of contamination on lube oil contacted components within the Turbine/Generator System.
