CLEAN FUEL SYSTEMS ENSURE AVAILABILITY OF STANDBY GENERATORS The value of having a Standby Diesel Generator available at critical times of utility power loss can be very easily measured in dollars and sometimes in lives. Although each individual user will place a somewhat varying value on the loss of electrical power, the fact remains that for those individuals who have endured the expense of providing Standby Diesel Generator backup for their critical electrical loads that being without power is not acceptable. Each type of user justifies the expense of providing Standby Diesel Generator power differently, however, the National Emergency Broadcast System must place the highest value on being able to operate in critical times, times when the utility power will not be available. This critical situation dictates that all possible steps to assure standby power availability should be taken. A large communications company recently decided that they could no longer afford not to protect the fuel supply that operated the Standby Diesel Generators at many of its stations across the United States. The cost to the company of lost power at high traffic times at some of their major stations, could go as high as Fifty Thousand Dollars per hour. Once this time and revenue was lost, it could never be recovered. The company began a retrofit program of installing CLEAN FUEL SYSTEMS at 22 of its locations around the United States. Since the installation of CLEAN FUEL SYSTEMS, the company has not experienced a single loss of critical diesel power due to contaminated fuel. A major hospital in Richmond, Virginia, made the decision to install a CLEAN FUEL SYSTEMS and has reported a dramatic decrease in the cost of maintaining their fuel in a state of readiness. The Director of Engineering for the hospital, reported a $7,000 annual saving in tank cleaning cost to the hospital. These savings were achieved by the elimination of an annual cleaning of their 25,000 gallon fuel tank which normally took three men two days to accomplish as well as having to pump out remaining fuel and filter the fuel prior to replacing it. Additional cost savings were realized by not having to purchase chemical additives to slow the growth of bacteria. Incidences of clogged lines, filter, and fouled burner tips were reduced to zero. A large company in the business of communications and operating large data centers began installing CLEAN FUEL SYSTEMS in the 90's and today they have systems in Sacramento, California; Fort Wayne, Indiana and Tampa, Florida. The engineers found that to be without protection for their fuel source would place the company's ability to deliver uninterrupted service to its clients in jeopardy. One interruption of service would cost the company many times more that the cost of a CLEAN FUEL SYSTEM. |
